City Introduction

Lausanne is the fourth largest Swiss city, and it is stunningly beautifully located on the northern shore of Lake Geneva. The lake is almost like a sea with alpine peaks as a breathtaking backdrop to the city, and this gives a special atmosphere together with the surrounding vineyards and the cozy atmosphere that you will experience everywhere in the city center.

There are many things to see in Lausanne, which is known for housing the International Olympic Committee. It is therefore quite natural that you can visit the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and it is worth going for sports enthusiasts of all ages. Here the Olympic history is told through interesting interactive exhibitions, memorabilia and much more.

You can see other interesting museums in the city as well, of which the modern Aquatis aquarium from 2017 is one of the flagships. Here are experiences from the world’s continents, while you can enjoy art from ancient Egypt to modern times at the Musée Cantonal des Beaux Arts. If you want to learn more about the history of Lausanne, the city museum Musée Historique de Lausanne is a good place to start.

You can continue the tour in the cozy streets of Lausanne, where you get an overview of the city, Lake Geneva and the Alps from the Place de la Cathédrale, where the mighty Notre-Dame stands in Gothic architecture. From here you can go to the old town, Vieille Ville, whose center is the cozy Place de la Palud. Overview of Tarragona

Jacksonville is one of the largest cities in the US state of Florida. The city’s history started with Frenchman Jean Ribault, who in 1562 sailed up St. Johns River and claimed the area for France, who two years later established Fort Caroline here. In 1565, Spanish troops attacked the fort, captured it and named it San Mateo. Florida became British in 1763 and they established Cow Ford at St. Johns River, which continued to grow when the area became Spanish again in 1783.
