Denmark is the southernmost of the three Scandinavian countries, and it is a country with small distances and great opportunities to see unforgettable places. One is never far from one of the lovely beaches that surrounds the country, and lakes, forests and hilly landscapes provide good opportunities for cycling, hiking or boating trip. The Danish cities also have a lot to offer with Copenhagen at the forefront.

The capital of Copenhagen is packed with centuries of history, and everywhere there is a cozy atmosphere to be a part of. You will finde impressive castles, beautiful churches, exciting museums and a medieval center, where streets and alleys are broken only by beautiful squares. Nyhavn, Tivoli Gardens and the Little Mermaid are at the top of popular places to go.

There is also a lot to see in the Danish provincial cities. Hans Christian Andersen's hometown of Odense stands in the name of the faitytale writer, and Jutland's largest city of Aarhus showcases fine art at ARoS and at the Moesgaard Museum south of the city. Aalborg, Esbjerg, Vejle and many other cities have nice pedestrian streets, enchanting quarters by the harbors and other things that create memories.

Denmark's nature is characterized by the sea and the many fjords which are to be found throughout the country. Denmark consists of a peninsula, about 400 islands and a lot of bridges and ferries to tie everything together. The Great Belt Bridge is one of the most impressive bridge constructions in Europe, and you can also choose small ferries with space for only a few cars to get around from place to place. The beaches and forests are beautiful, and North Zealand, the Silkeborg Lakes and the rocky island of Bornholm are special places to visit.
