Budapest Travel Guide

Hungary is located in Central Europe, and the mighty Danube winds through the country and the capital Budapest. The country is relatively flat, and the Hungarian lowlands represent large parts of the countryside in Hungary, where it is very easy to get from town to town and city to city.

Budapest is one of the major, central European capitals with an incredibly interesting history. Over time, several cultures have left a mark on the city, offering countless sights. The castle of Buda, the architecture of Pest and the many hot springs and baths are just some of the impressions from a visit here.

With the capital in the middle of the country, there are many excursion destinations in the province that are quickly reached from Budapest. Lake Balaton, called the Hungarian Sea, is the most popular resort. One cozy town replaces the other along the shores of the lake, where bathers enjoy a swim or other activities such as boating.

The Hungarian provincial towns are also interesting and offer a nice atmosphere where you can experience Hungary outside Budapest. Debrecen, Győr and Pécs are a few examples and everywhere you can enjoy the Hungarian food, which among other things. known for goulash, salami and paprika. And then you also have to remember that the tasty Tokai wines come from Hungary.
