Introduction

Portugal is beautifully located on the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and consists of the Iberian mainland and the islands of Madeira and the Azores. The country's climate is mild and here is a varied nature and many exciting cities.

The capital of Lisbon was for many years the center of the rich colonial power, Portugal, and this can be clearly seen with the many distinguished buildings from the last centuries. There are also many interesting modern sights such as the city's trams and the Santa Justa lift from the industrial era.

Northern Portugal is dominated by the metropolitan city of Porto, the home of the port wine. The region also has beautiful mountain areas and many sights in the province. Southern Portugal is among other things known for the many wonderful beaches of the Algarve.

In the Atlantic, you can visit Madeira and the Azores, which offer a unique floral splendor, magnificent scenery and atmospheric city experiences in the largest cities of Funchal in Madeira and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
